From the IEP Room to Congress
We’ve got each other’s back.
Parents know the challenges of navigating the IEP/504 process—and too often, we face them alone.
Parents United for Public Schools is launching IEP Circles, a parent-powered support and advocacy network. Join our virtual kickoff to connect with other families, learn what IEP Circles are, and plug into real tools for change.
Parents of children with disabilities often have to advocate for accommodations for their kid's education. This can include access to communication devices, items for sensory regulation, a classroom or bus aide, or simply more time to complete a test. We believe sharing our IEP (individualized education plan) and 504 experiences on the local level empowers parents of children with disabilities to be better advocates for their children in IEP rooms and to their elected officials. Fill out the form, tell your story, and we'll connect you with your local IEP Circle chapter.
What Are IEP Circles?
IEP Circles are ongoing, parent-led groups that:
Demystify the IEP/504 process through shared experience and practical tips.
Support families emotionally and materially with peer coaching and resource-sharing.
Organize to protect and expand services—locally, at the Statehouse, and in Congress.
Build power so parents have a real voice in decisions that affect our children’s education.
Parents, caregivers, and allies of children with disabilities who believe in the power of public schools—and want to make sure every child in Ohio has the resources and support they need to thrive.
